To all the wonderful people who are waiting patiently for this novel: QUESTION: where am I in The Turning Tide this year? ANSWER:Honestly, I'm at the end of Chapter 4, ready to strand Brim on a "primitive Planet." Biggest Factor: I'm not going to release it until it's worth reading. If I rush it, we'll all--you and me--be disappointed. So far, I think it's pretty good QUESTION: Do I think I can finish it next year (2010)? ANSWER: I have recently freed up some extra time to finish the novel by the end of 2010. Yes, I intend to get it off my plate in this year There are other stories I want to write. Tide is in the way, now. Meanwhile, Bart Robbins in my Enigma Strategy is essentially Wilf Brim dressed in 1941 R.A.F. flight togs. And I'll make no bones about it: the airplane he flies as a lot more exciting than any starship I've come up with yet. Not only that, it's real.
